Hello Michelle,

I have a clear autosomal connection to descendants of Thomas Hartley (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hartley-747) and his wife Elizabeth Paxton on a paternal line. I am trying to rule out a direct Y connection. I am interpreting these results as representing that Thomas: HARTLEY [4.11] MARSDEN, LANCASHIRE. Tested R-DF13 A11138>A11132>A11134,A11135>A16717+ Branch. TMRCA Thomas HARTLEY 1700-1787 Solebury USA. DYS449=32, DYS534=16, DYS504=17. It would be nice if the project could incorporate wikitree or familysearch IDs in the results page. Thanks! Jonathan Long

My 4th Great Grandmother was a Hartley. On my Mother's side of the family it goes from Gentry, Hagerty, Davidson, Hartley. I have some Davidson data, and at one time years ago, I may have known the name of the Hartley woman.

Do you have a link to the Davidsons in the United States, probably in Tennessee.

My Grandmother claimed that Mr. Hartley was a plantation owner before the Civil War.

Can you provide more information on who Mr. Hartley is?
My 5x grandmother is Mary Bridget (Hartley) Wimer. Daughter of Thomas Hartley born in Pennsylvania 1792. My great great grandma is Edna Hazel Wimer my great grandmothers mom. Ancestry.com connected my 5x grandma to Thomas born 1767 from somewhere record hidden I think. Then all the way to Roger Hartley who married Rebecca Packer granddaughter of Philip Packer courtier for King Charles 2nd and founder member of royal society.

I am new to Wiki so I'm still trying to find my way around. I have DNA from Ancestry from my father (Hartley) and me, I would love to find out what Haplogroup we come from if that's possible.

Did your father have his yDNA tested? Did you have your mDNA tested? Or did you both just do the basic test?
We both did the same test, I think we did the autosomal DNA testing.

You can't get your haplogroup from autosomal testing. Where did you test?
Darn, Ancestory

What would you suggest? If I can get him to take another test for me, lol

Shonie, you can get a basic haplogroup out of (your father's) raw AncestryDNA results if you download them and then run through through the YSEQ cladefinder https://cladefinder.yseq.net/. The Big Y test at FamilytreeDNA would give you the best matching to other Hartleys if your connection is not yet clear.
